Rare Reservoir

Ok so today we decided that we would either go to the public pool or the reservoir for a day of swimming and sunbathing. So after my morning of doing laundry at the King and eating a healthy lunch of grilled chicken and rice (yummy) we headed to the place. Now the pool and reservoir are fairly close to eachother, but we decided that we would like to go to the reservoir then the pool, since it'd probably be crowded. So we (Varie, Hellen, James, Iain and I) took the bus up to the stop (since the tram is not running up there because of work) and got off. We walked down this uneven set of old stone stairs and arrived at a path. We ended up going the wrong way, so we had to turn around and head back. We ended up at the reservoir, but didn't know where to go to get in, then we realized we had to pay at this wee stand and enter to get in. For 50 Kc, it's not too bad, so we paid and headed in.

The first bit of area seemed really mucky near the shore so we decided to head down a bit more. We went through this pathway with weeping willows over the it and when we emerged from it, we noticed it was starting to get a bit clearer by the shore (there isn't a beach, just grass right up to the edge of the reservoir). But as we walked along something else became a little more clearer to us, everyone around us was in the nude! That is right, we had found ourselves at a nudist or should I say rare reservoir! I have been taking a figure drawing class, so it didn't bother me too much, but although we tried not to look, we couldn't help it. Believe me, I could never go to a nudist beach. So we just quickly walked through and tried to find a spot that people weren't completely in the buff. We ended up a lil further down and more and more people were actually in swimsuits, luckily. There was no way I would be getting down to the buff at this place! Oh we have only a few pics, no one brought cameras, but we did have camera phones.

So we found a nice sunny place near the shade (so we can keep our drinks and stuff cool) and dropped our stuff off and got down into our suits. We went and played in the water and the sun for a bit. Boy was that water cold! But it did feel really good after the long walk down to the reservoir. After a while we started to get cool, so us girls decided a bite to eat and a cold drink sounded good from the lil stand that was up a ways from the shore. We went and got some food and went back to lay out in the sun. I am actually starting to get a tan! It's very mild, but you can definitely see the difference between skin under and not under the suit! I am fairly tan on the arms and shoulders, but that is from wearing tanks around Prague. I'm hoping to come back with a nice tan, so that I can enjoy the summer without burning any (key to doing that is a lil thing called sunscreen).

Opps! sorry Iain...this is James with Varie's scarf on his head.

Well after a long afternoon of sunbathing and playing in the reservoir we decided to call it a day and leave. We had to back through the naked bit again, and up the stairs to get back to the bus stop, but not before a icecream sundae at the McD's at the top of the hill. I had a chocolate one, and we all visited a bit with our icecream and relaxed a bit after our climb up. It was a great ending to a nice day! It's sad that Hellen will be leaving tomorrow, it seems like she just got here. It definitely was a nice one though! We are staying in tonight (decided going out to a club wasn't that fun since we are tired) and just hanging out in the Student Pub in the basement. Ahoj!
