Ok so today I did not get anything checked off my list as in what I'd like to see in Prague before I leave, but I did get a couple things done that I needed to before I leave. The first is finding out about mailing a box home. I went to the post office and got sent away, since they didn't speak english. I was a little disheartened by this, but thought if I got a hold of one of my many Czech friends they could help me out. After doing a little searching on the internet I ran into the Czech Postal Website and e-mailed them basic questions about sending things to the United States. I didn't want to get my hopes up, because I know how the system is here in the Czech Republic, but lo and behold, they e-mailed me back after a couple of hours. I received two documents, a price list of what it would cost to ship it home, and the weight and dimension limits of shipping something. I was so shocked. So now I roughly know how much it would cost me and I can go with enough money to pay for it. I even got my Czech friend, Michal, to go with me on Wednesday afternoon to get it shipped. I'm so glad that this is better then what I thought it was going to be after I got turned away from the post office.
The second thing I got done today that I needed to was get my final mark in my design studio. I got a 2! So roughly that is a B, which is fine with me because it is all new here when it comes to what the teacher would expect and I usually get a B in design studio anways, I only got an A twice. So after that great news, I am totally ready to do my countdown of leaving Prague. I have five things I would like to do over the next five days. Here's my list of things, they are in no order, it just depends on what I feel like doing that day...
1_Go to the National History Museum in Wenceslas Square. I am very fascinated with history, so this is something I've been wanting to do.
2_Go to the Prague Castle and the gardens one day. My last time to enjoy my favorite Cathedral that I have had a privilage to see.
3_Go to Prague's other castle, Vysehrad, and go to a botanical garden not too far from it that I have heard about.
4_Go to Petrin Hill and enjoy the beautiful rose garden and my favorite place in all of Prague.
5_Visit the Jewish Quarter, something I have not done yet, and spend sometime in Old Town, a place I have become very familar with since my project was there.
I also have to make a final list of things I would like to do in Berlin. I have an idea of what I would like to see, but I need to be a little more prepared for that, since I only have four full days to enjoy it. I can't believe I won't be in Prague in a week. It has become a home away from home and although I do love it, it could never replace my real home back in Kansas. I think that is why I was so homesick for such a long time, but I do have a million memories of this wonderful city and many new friends that I have made that will remind me of how great it was to live in Prague for such a short chapter in my life. Even though somethings may change when I come home, I'll still be the same person, just a little wiser and a little more rounded. Well I should get to doing some more packing, because I am planning on doing one of my fives tomorrow and we are having a few drinks later as a final goodbye to Laura and Kate. Ahoj!
