Petrin Hill and Park

Today, Laura (British) and I decided to do a little walking through Petrin Hill and Park (uphill the whole way on foot!) and do a little exploring around Praha. It was a lovely day having a temperature at about 10 degrees Celsius. The sun was shining, the sky was so blue, just as I said, a lovely day.

We walked the whole way up by foot, we decided the fresh air and the lovely trail would be nice to do. Along the way we relaxed at the pond areas, and had to keep looking out towards Praha to see the lovely view! We even got to the Seal Sculpture in honor of the seal that swam the whole way to Germany, when Praha had floods and it escaped the zoo (a lot of animals died, or had to be killed because of it though). We passed through Hunger Wall, which used to surround Lesser town to protect it from outsiders. Then we went and played like school children in the Petrin Mirror Labyrinth. Next we went to the top of the Petrin Lookout Tower, or as the say it's Praha's Eiffel Tower. We had to climb what it felt like a million stairs, but it was well worth the view. We could even see CVUT campus from the top! After the climb, we browsed the gift shop for postcards and posters to take home with us. We decided since we walked the whole way up, we'd ride the Funicular Railway down (totally opposite of what other people would do).

Funicular Railway: Going Down?

We didn't even realize the time when we had spent out, when people started texting us about dinner, but we weren't too hungry, so we decided to head down to see if we could find John Lennon's Wall, go across Charles Bridge (the river is still really high!), and went to Old Town to catch the very end of the Easter Market (they were closing for the night).

We decide to treat ourselves to dinner at Bohemia Bagel and had fish and chips for dinner, yummy! Afterwards we headed home to rest a bit before we head out for the night. Should get around we are going back to the first club I went to in Praha, Lucerna Music Bar. I do want to add one last thing though...Happy 18 Months Jason! I love you so much, I wish you were here with me! Ahoj!
